Online IoT publication Internet of Business has appointed experienced technology journalist Jessica Twentyman as Editor.

Jessica joins the team from Wednesday 1st February 2017, taking over from predecessor Doug Drinkwater who joins technology publisher IDG.

She will manage the experienced editorial team, which comprises Adrian Bridgwater, Rene Millman, Sooraj Shah, Nicholas Fearn, Malek Murison and Fred Roberts.

Jessica is a business and technology journalist with a 20-year track record as a writer and editor on national newspapers and IT trade titles.

She is a regular contributor to the Financial Times, The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), Diginomica and Computer Weekly, among others, and works as a consulting editor to media organizations and IT companies, helping them to define and develop effective content strategies for their online and offline publications.

In addition to countless interviews with senior technology leaders, her career highlights have included introducing World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee to the stage at a major UK technology event and quizzing the President of Rwanda Paul Kagame on the topic of digital inclusion in his country.

Speaking on her confirmation as the new Editor of Internet of Business, Jessica said:

“Through my work as a journalist, I’ve observed in recent years how the minds of the smartest and most creative people I meet are focused on bringing the IoT to maturity. As organizations worldwide scramble to capture the cost reductions, efficiency gains and new insights promised by a world of connected devices, I can’t imagine a better time to be joining Internet of Business.”

Internet of Business stands at a really interesting and important point in its development. Thanks to the hard work of my predecessor Doug Drinkwater and a team of talented, insightful writers, the site is in great shape and ready to develop over the months ahead, pushing forward in its mission to help readers identify how the IoT will create new opportunities and competitive advantage for their businesses.”

Doug Drinkwater, who joins IDG as EMEA Content Director, said of the appointment:

“Jessica is the ideal person to step into this role and to drive IoB going forward. She’s a vastly experienced and talented writer and editor, and I’ve no doubt she will help the publication to grow and become the home for all things IoT in the coming years.”

Jane Noordhuis, CEO of publishing company Vinelake said: ““We are very excited that Jess is joining us as editor of IoB.

“She has a long pedigree writing in the technology sector, having been published in The Financial Times, The Guardian and most of the leading technology journals. Her mission is to build on the great success we have had in growing IoB since its launch to develop it into one of the leading authoritative sources of information and analysis on the fast growing IoT, AI, data analytics and disruptive technology markets”.
